Friends of Davies Lane

Friends of Davies Lane

Who Are Friends Of Davies Lane?
We are a dedicated group of parents, carers and staff of Davies Lane School.

What We Do?
Throughout the year we hold fun activities and fundraisers to raise money for the school.

Our main fundraisers consist of a Christmas fair, Valentines disco, Easter bonnet parade and bake sale and towards the end of the year we hold a Summer Fete. We finish the year with a celebratory goodbye party for Year 6 leavers.

Why Do We Do This?
The school’s budget does not always cover all the activities and resources that we would like to have, so fundraising generates extra money to help cover the cost. We offer funding for after -school clubs and other enrichment activities such as days out or entertainers in!

We encourage Parent and School Councils to be part of the decision making process so that we all have a say in how funds are spent, because it is important to us that the funds raised will benefit all the children at Davies Lane.

What Can You Do?
Please come and join our committee and help us to raise lots more money. We welcome new ideas for fundraising and of course, ideas on how to spend it. If you don’t fancy joining the committee you can volunteer to help in any way that you can - at a fundraiser, with preparation, or on the day itself. The main committee positions are: Chair Person, Vice-chair, Secretary, Treasurer and general committee members. If you are interested in finding out more, or would like to take on any listed position, please feel free to contact us either through the school office or through our email. fodlnews@gmail.com

How Often Do We Meet?
We usually meet once a term to plan for fundraisers. We then meet more frequently in the lead up to a fundraiser, to finalise all the details.

Fundraising takes commitment and effort but the results are worth it!
