Year 6 Testimonials

Year 6 Testimonials

Even though I came to Davies Lane a little bit later than everybody else, I still feel like I have been here as long as the majority of the other students here. I didn't understand any English in the first 2 years of my time here. Sure I was very confused for the majority of the time, but I never felt left out. I will miss my time at Davies Lane, as I'm sure many will; it was like my second home. There are no word in the English language that can describe how much it has helped me over the years, and I will be forever grateful for that.

When I first came to Davies Lane, I barely knew how to read or write. Somehow, the children around me did know but instead of making fun of me, they helped me out. I think that the people here at Davies Lane are very welcoming and to me, it felt like my second home. If I look back at my years in Davies Lane, I can see many beautiful memories that I will always cherish. I want to say a big thank you to all my teachers who have taught me in the past 7 years. I want to say thank you to all my friends who stood by me during those tough times. Without all of these wonderful people, I don’t think that I will be where I am now. I am very grateful for being able to go to Davies Lane and I will miss it very much. I am sure that others will do. During my time at Davies Lane, I realised that this famous quote is actually true. “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” - Winston Churchill. I have been through many ups and downs and I’m sure that many others have been through some too. I just want to say that keep working hard. Even through those tough times, always remember that it will always be worth it. I really enjoyed my time here at Davies Lane and I will really miss it.

Throughout my time at Davies Lane, I have created fond memories, made new friends, and gained a lot of knowledge. I really think that my parents made the right decision to let me
have my education here. I have many friends, but some really close ones as well. Those are
Rosie, Lucy and Iris. We have known each other since Reception and been best friends ever
since. Hopefully, we can continue that friendship, even though some of us are going to
different schools.

I also would like to thank my teachers who have helped me to reach this point. Some of them
have left the school but I will never forget them either. I can’t forget to mention my extracurricular teachers such as my karate teacher, Miss Rawlinson and Liudmilla, my piano
teacher. Thank you so much for giving me an awesome education!
