Eco-warriors

Our aim is to share our knowledge and understanding of current environmental issues.We aim to support well-being through nature and demonstrate how every individual can make a positive difference at home, school and in the broader world for themselves.

At Davies Lane, each class elects an Eco-Warrior representative who has an active role in the school. The Eco-warriors support the school to continue to become a more sustainable and eco-friendly school; raise awareness about sustainability and encourage everyone to develop eco-friendly habits. These include: 

Recycling:

• Paper and card

• Textiles

• Food 

Saving energy:

• switching off lights

• switching off ICT equipment, rather than leaving it on standby

• Closing doors to keep heat in

Conserving resources:

• Taking care of our equipment so that it lasts

• Using resources in a way that minimises waste

• Second hand uniform sale 

Care for the environment:

• Using litter bins to keep our school and local area clean

• Designing our eco garden to be a rich habitat.

We believe that we can all have a role to play in making a more sustainable and greener planet. The eco-warriors act as a catalyst to inspire many young people to get growing and start thinking about ways they can make small steps to sustainability to help us all make significant changes.
